Romney Wins First Debate – The Tide Begins to Turn
With the first presidential debate over, some brief conclusions can be drawn about these two candidates and the election coming up in November.
Romney destroyed the president in this debate. It wasn’t even close. In image, in language, in ideas and in the minds of the viewers – Romney was superior to Obama. It almost wasn’t a fair fight. Romney had all the firing power of the US Navy what with the poor excuse for a record Obama has amassed economically these past 4 years. Over 8 % unemployment for 43 months! 1/6th of the country in poverty! Doubling the number of people on food stamps! Unelected board of bureaucrats who make health care decisions. The hits just kept on coming for Mr. Obama as Romney piled on the list of failures of the current administration.
The lasting impression I have from the debate is just how in charge of things economically Romney is. He has over 25 years in business experience and it showed in a big way tonight. While Obama did lots of talking about Obamacare, Romney has actually consulted with hospitals. Romney knows the tax code and he knows in what specific ways small businesses are hindered by government. Obama kept trying to turn to these pointless stories. He probably did so because he was in an archery contest and had an empty quiver – nothing to run on, nothing to show for the trillions of debt added.
Then, when Obama tried to turn to his typical talking points (I’ll hire a billion teachers and oil companies get tax breaks) Romney broke his back with the facts that Massachusetts is #1 in the country for education and Obama gave away what amounts to 50 years of “tax breaks” to failed “green” companies.
Romney looked confident, was on point, and had a clear message. Obama was looking down, nervous, and defeated.
I think this is a very good sign. The tide begins to turn.

“He probably did so because he was in an archery contest and had an empty quiver.” An empty quiver indeed.
The choice is clear!
We all need to keep the gas pedal all the way down until Nov 6.
