Solyndra and the Obama Economy
I came across this video as an advertisement on Youtube. Upon further investigation, the video is produced by an organization called “Energy for America.” I think it speaks for itself. What do you think?
I’m a conservative, but I also have a conservation side and a love of nature. Nature is, after all, our sister, as we have the same Creator Father as Chesterton would say. I am also in favor of tapping our nation’s natural energy resources, including coal, natural gas and oil. The “green jobs” talk of the past 3 years is a joke, and not many jobs or very much energy comes from that side of the industry. But, it is a wonderful idea, in principle, and I hope the technology catches up with the high hopes of many who wish to use less oil. Suffice to say, the technology is not quite there yet. Not even close really. So, a 2011 energy policy must include coal and oil, of which we have plenty here in the US. If at some point in the future, oil and coal become obsolete – great. We’re not there yet and to pretend like we are is silly.
One thing is for certain, we must reduce our dependency on foreign oil. Putting billions upon billions of dollars into 3rd world dictators’ pockets and into our enemies’ pockets is not wise. Domestic oil and coal and natural gas are the answer for now.
Also, I’d prefer the EPA be wiped off the face of the earth as it has done more than perhaps any other institution (other than the Obama administration, that is) to destroy US jobs and line the pockets of despotic madmen. Whatever the goals of the EPA, they have accomplished little, other than reducing our economic security and driving jobs over seas.
